The compact, and ergonomic design of the Clean-Core unit permits single handed operation. The operation of the Clean-Core unit is as simple as depressing the red lever on the side of the unit, which opens the protective cover, advances the cleaning fabric thereby exposing the next controlled strip of clean fabric.
The Clean-Core has been specifically designed to offer the user a revolutionary, portable, pocket size cleaning solution for fibre optic connectors.

The Clean-Core is initially supplied with a removable cassette containing the fabric which supports 400 cleaning cycles. Replacement cassettes can be purchased and installed into the Clean-Core, by the simple operation of unscrewing two retaining screws on the side of the unit. The cleaning fabric has a super fine cross woven weave, which permits dry cleaning of fibre optic connectors, through the action of two wipes down the length of exposed cleaning fabric.

Extensive test data exists to demonstrate that the cleaning cycle is effective at removing fingerprint contamination, dust and other particle contamination, residues of Isopropyl Alcohol and other liquid and organic contamination, which has the potential to adversely impact the operational performance of the fibre optic connector interface.
