This course provides students with the knowledge to work on fibre to the antenna, more mobile operators are moving to fibre optic cabling to the dish/antenna replacing legacy copper cabling with 4G rollouts increasing the operators needed to move away from copper cabling because of bandwidth demands most Carrier Ethernet radios are now equipped with a fibre interface on radio dishes. This increases bandwidth and reduces costs for the operator, but the skill of fibre optic installation and testing to these dishes/antennas requires riggers to have new skills as they are now longer installing copper waveguide instead the power cable contains fibre to allow quick and easy installation.
This is the future of telecoms networks with bandwidth pushing providers to move to FTTA solutions the skill and expertise to deliver these services around the globe are in high demand with this skillset of FTTA experience as a Certified Fibre Optic Specialist FTTA you will have the knowledge and skills to install, test and maintain FTTA solutions.
As well as learning the theory you will also get hands on practical experience installing and testing Passive Optical Networks this course is classed as a specialist subject by the FOA and delegates must have completed the CFOTS course before attending this course
Career progression you can go on to cover more specialist courses from the FOA including CFOS/FTTA CFOS/Testing and CFOS/Data centre cabling or even move into design of networks CFOS/A
