About The Fibre Optics Installation and Testing Outside Plant

The course is designed so you can carry out fibre optic cable installation and testing in an external telecommunications network. We have designed this course specifically around the external environment including fibre to the premises and and passive optical networks PON's.

We focus the course around the main practical elements of fusion splicing and testing within this specific environment and cover OTDR testing on PON networks.

To give this course a vocational award we have concentrated this course around the city and guilds 3667-02 module three external networks only and for those who work on the BT network they can obtain N023 BT one fibre solution and other BT accreditation's.

Who is the course designed for?

The course is designed for entrants wanting to get into the telecommunications industry specifically jointing and testing fibre optic cables in fibre to the premises and external fibre optic networks. This course is solely concentrated on external fibre, this means working in the street, in cable pits and chambers this courses is 70% hands on practical so you gain maximum hands on training in a real world environment.
